This is a thanks to my mother!
Tomorrow, we are gathering at her house, not mine, for Thanksgiving. All I have to do is show up with my fabulous homemade cranberry sauce and a large quantitiy of wine.
So for the first time in years, I'm spending the Wednesday before Thanksgiving doing things other than obsessing over doing the Martha Stewart thing, which seems to take more energy than I'm used to expending!
Today, I showed a couple of houses, blogged a bit, and at 3:00pm I'm leaving for a pedicure.
Then, tomorrow at about eleven, I'll head for Baltimore. It will be fun to see a mix of sibings, aunts, uncles, cousins - and my mom's new kitchen! And we're all bringing something, so all my mother is doing her a big turkey in her new convection oven, along with her amazing stuffing.
It's going to be a fun day to get together with people I love and to be thankful.
And to my blog buddies here on Active Rain, here's wishing you spend the day giving thanks with good people, good food, and in good spirits.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Patricia, Happy Thanksgiving, great that all of you are sharing the work and the wine!
All the best!
Sounds like we are two peas in a pod! With my MIL gone back to the midwest, no more extravagant T-days (which I do love to put on!)
Happy Thankgiving to you and have a most enjoyable day tomorrow!
Patricia, And a Happy Thanksgiving to you too. We are the parents that the kids are showing up for tomorrow. No pedicure for me this year.
Wine always makes for a great day..Holiday or not..lol..Enjoy yourself and your family!
Enjoy. We sort of take turns. My turn was 3 years ago and my family is so big, I don't know when it will be my turn again. No matter, it will be fun.
It sounds like you are in for a fun day. Be careful when on the road and enjoy your family.
I spent all day showing houses too. My feet are tired but I'm sure a sale will be following soon. Heading out tomorrow for a group feast at a friends house in PA. Plenty of food, wine and good company! Have a great Thanksgiving.
Patricia - Have an awesome Thanksgiving! We're thinking of doing Mount Vernon this weekend...
Patricia - you really know what Thanksgiving is about. We're having dinner for a dozen or so here - daughter Tami does the turkey, as she has for probably 30 years, and guests bring a dish - often friends who don't have other family, and we've all become a Holiday Family with years of traditions. Most years they bring the same thing - something they like to cook. So what if the meal isn't balanced!
Happy Thanksgiving to All.
Patricia,
That sounds like the makings for a great Thanksgiving...!!! Have a great day!!! Thanks, Fran
Pat, people, food, and spirits, who can complain about any of that? Good stuff. Happy Thanksgiving to YOU!!
Pat - Hope you enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving day. I'll be home cooking. I'll save you a bite!
Have a great time, Pat. Leave room for dessert!
Patricia, first off Happy Thanksgiving. Even in tough times like these, we all need to find things to be thankful for.
Patricia, You have a Happy Thanksgiving also. I'm not cooking tomorrow either as we had our Thanksgving last week when our son was in for his R & R from Iraq. Our daughter was able to get some time off at the same time so we took advantage and had the turkey early.
Hi Pat...Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. You are fortunate to be sharing it with family. We will be with family at my daughter-in-law's home (my son's also but she's the chef).
Sounds like you had a very pleasant day today.
Kate
Hi Pat~ enjoy your day tomorrow. I'm taking a 10 minute break from my preparations for tomorrow. I'm hosting for the second time in a row, due to my son's request. He's home from college (his first year) and wanted Mom's cooking!
Hi Pat... HAPPY THANKSGIVING! It sounds like you have a great day planned with your family... enjoy it and save me some cranberry sauce! :)
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Have a fabulous Thanksgiving Pat!!!
Pat - Hopr your Thanksgiving was fantastic. Sounded as stressfree as mine - a 3 1/2 hr trip to MY mom's too. And all I had to do is bake the pumpkin pie!
