I Am A Lucky Woman!

Over half the time I get behind the wheel, it means a drive through Rock Creek Park to reach my destination.  Whether it's a trip to the office or to Whole Foods, on my way, I am surrounded by nature at its most awesome.

Today, there was little traffic and I had my camera handy, so it gave me a chance to snap a few.

Most, but not all, of the leaves have fallen to the ground, and there are still patches of color.

Of course, I was looking for Bambi and her buck, but they were probaly making out like lusty teenagers and found a more private place.

Patricia - beautiful photos.  And yes, you are a lucky woman!  It was 80 degrees here yesterday, and we certainly don't get the color changes here that you have, but it's gonna get cooler tonight and maybe some leaves here will start to fall.  All my oak trees are dropping their acorns and it's painful to walk barefoot around my yard now.

Patricia,

Good photos. I feel a bit cold just looking at them. I guess a month ago the scenery should have been a killer.

It is good to see you still have color on your trees.  The winds have come to WV and the trees are now mostly bare.

Christine, acorns?  Ouch!

Jon and David, a couple of weeks ago, the trees were totally green.  They were colorful for a few days and then the winds came!

Pat once again lovely shots.  I think Bambi and friends were hanging out in my area.  I was hoping they wouldn't run into my car.
