I've always wanted to go para-sailing. I put parasailing on my bucket list, along with the hot air balloon ride over the Loire Valley in France.
It first captured my imagination on a trip to Barbados, but my traveling buddies said it was a not good idea down there - they advised waiting until I was back in the States where there were safety standards, however dubiously enforced.
So today, I met two new "trusted advisors", Christopher and Captain Adrian, who run Dennis Parasail in Dennis, Massachusetts.
I went up twice. Once with my favorite kid - the one I forgot to have - Charles Cutler. He was camera shy, however. My first ride was with Charles, and we were both a little terrified. But as soon as we were up there, it was exhilarating! Wow! Whoo Hoo!
Then, as the adult accompanying these two young fellows, I had my second ride with Charles' friend, Dillon. By then, I felt a lot more confident, and the ride was amazing!
I had a waterproof camera with film that hasn't been developed yet. When it is, I'll find some way to work it into a post.
So to those of you approaching geezerhood, parasailing, at least with Adrian and Chris, is amazing and safe and wow! You're up there looking down about four hundred feet over Cape Cod and the lobster traps with the breeze holding you up and --
It doesn't get much better than this!
Now we're about to eat Charlie's birthday lobster! Yum!

Great story, one of my fondest memories was para-sailing with my daughter off Hilton Head, what a rush....thanks.
Pat,
So glad you experienced this well deserved adventure in life. As agents, we work around the clock and it's important to have fun like everyone else! And you, of all people, are well deserving.
Pat, your term geezerhood I will try to banish from my memory. You are having way too much fun. I was thinking parasailing was done like in Cancun or the Bahamas so now you have me corrected that they do it in New England. I don't think I've seen such big smiles on you in a long time. Those are monster lobsters. Keep the travel log coming. You are doing a great job with it.
Wow, is that a REAL LOBSTER?
Sounds like you are having a BLAST!
BethAnn in Spokane
Those are some kind of Lobsters! And the parasailing hmmm I guess I'll have to try it........my kids went when we were in hawaii last november..........and i have to say i took the time to have some 'me time'..........but........hmmm maybe I should have gone too! :-) Looks like you're having a great time on your vacation!
I haven't knocked that one off yet. I did knock off holding a tarantula though a couple of years ago. I have a horrible fear of spiders and it took everything I could to to stand still and let those hairy little legs walk on my hand... yeesh! Glad it's over with...
Now that's a lobster!!!...Parasailing...I have always been such a wimp....was it great?
Patricia,
Are you sure you're on vacation...you've become a 'blogging maniac'...respectfully!!! LOL, Thanks, Fran
P.S. Just goes to prove how addictive this blogging passion can be!!!
That is the biggest lobster I've ever seen. Congratulations... it sounds like you had a blast.
It sounds like you are having a great time. I haven't tried parasailing yet, but mark my words...I will! :)
Pat,
I think I could do that but the idea of bailing out of an airplane does not appeal to me. I think parasailing would be more up my alley. Especially the thing where they drag you behind a boat with a big kite attached.
I went parasailing once. It was a blast gliding above the ocean!
Patricia, this post has been featured in the Group Diary of a Realtor. Congratulations!! Anyone that goes parasailing deserves any kind of award in my book, especially one for bravery. Don't look down, it's a long way......
Patricia: This is GREAT! I love parasailing and finally got my husband to go up a couple of years ago when we were in Hilton Head and HE had a blast too!
And, that lobster--OH, MY! Can I come to dinner?!
David, we're planning another trip next week! It's so fun!
Tracy, it was one of those times that I felt like my mind was totally cleared out! After so much Type-A, it was wonderful.
Gary, those lobsters were just amazing! And I can't wait to try this in the Caribbean.
BethAnn, yes. We got a little close to the food chain tonight! We murdered the little guys!
And Liz, that was "Me time"!
Wonderful time for you Patricia. It sounds as though it was an exhilerating activity for you. We all need those from time to time.
Pat - FANTASTIC!!!! I don't know if I could do it...........I might loose my breakfast! Besides, I am older than you, so I have an excuse - while you are approaching geezerhood, I am already there! Does that count?????????????? Anyway, I love to watch people doing it! I have just read about too many accidents and at this age, you don't heal as easily!!!!!
Thanks for sharing!!! Looking forward to the rest of the photos!
Pat - No Way....I never parasailed, looks like fun but I have such a fear of heights! Congratulations!! You sure are having a good time!
