Why We Have a Spring Market in Washington DC

This week, we had a pricing party at a beautiful house in Chevy Chase.  It's going on the market very soon.  And it's a great house with everything I would want.  There's great entertaining space, a kitchen that would be really fun to cook in, a home office that could turn even a lazy slob into a hyper producer, and I was in love, grabbing my client list.

And then I went up to the second floor and looked out the rear window.  This is what I saw.

It was a dogwood in more than full bloom with multi-colored azaleas.

And I had an "AHA" moment.

Washington has a spring market every year.  Home buyers go a little bit crazy.  They get involved in multiple offers and have to win.  And they are not buying a fabulous house, but the dogwoods and azaleas that convey with the property.

And when I looked out the window of our new listing, I couldn't blame them!

I am totally jealous of that view!  There's still some snow on the ground here and the grass is still brown.  :(     Looks like you should have a great spring market!

AHA indeed Pat.  What a treasure to find outside the window.  Good idea to include those photos with the listing.

Wow. That backyard view alone should help to sell that home. Even once the blossoms pass it still looks like it will be gorgeous. Best of luck with it.

Pat what a view I love the combination of the dogwood and azela.   I have a dozen or more dogwoods and I have a great view from my office window, such a scene makes me smile.

Well, that's not the view behind my grandmother's house, or of Bamboo Land, where we played, nearby, but it will do, I guess...

Thanks for sharing this great photo. Here in the Napa Valley, it is the poppies which are in full bloom. It is illegal to cut them till after the do so and they are everywhere especially lining all the local roads. cheers cvc

We have much beauty in the area this spring.  On Friday, Dolores and I spent most of the day at the U. S. National Arboretum.  The azaleas were still beautiful.

I hope you are having an outstanding weekend!

Patricia, what a colorful surprise! I love spring while the trees are still flowering, and they subtlely compliment the house and landscape.

Thats a beautiful shot and Im impressed that you know the name of the tree, but perhaps thats because I dont know the name of any trees.
