When you are pushing Open House arrows into the groud at McLean Gardens, you never know who you will encounter. I met this turqoise person (a bit androginous) on the corner of Macomb Street and 39th, just sitting there minding his/her own business. There are at least for statues similar to this one throughout the complex. I wonder if they conveyed when the McLean family sold their old estate?
And considering the weather was a bit wet and dreary, it was a good afternoon!
There are so many things that I love about the east coast, the statues, the national mall, the archiecture and the history.. This is a beautiful picture Patricia.. But the year round warmth of the west coast is what keeps me here.
Hope you had a great weekend, and have a great week!!
A terrific picture Pat. I haven't had a chance to get down to the DC area yet this year. We have a trip planned later in May and I look forward to spending a day or so soaking in the sites. Thanks for posting!
Pat - Interesting spot to put a sculpture, but then again it is in DC. Soon I'd like to take a trip and visit all the sights - it's been too long and I love Washington DC - so much history and architectural beauty!
By the way I am watching what is happening in D.C. right now on the new... Everyone seems to be enjoying a mass peaceful gathering but regardless be careful out there.
That is one cool statue Pat. You took a great shot of it!
Well Pat, when one is feeling blue this may be a pic to pick out of the hard drive...what an odd location to put a statute but oddness is what fascinates us in real estate sometimes!
How beautiful! You never know where you will stumble upon a bit of history up in the DC area!
Don't you just love rounding a turn and coming up on things like this... makes life so much more interesting!
Interesting pose; kind of makes you wonder what (s)he is doing or thinking. Glad your open house went well.
I like these and as well as many finds there are in the area! Nice to see them around isn't it?
