Speechless Sunday

I took this a couple of weeks ago in Cumberland, Maryland.  It's a picturesque little town along the Maryland - West Virginia border. This was the a Victorian red brick building that I have no information on whatsoever.  I just really loved the way the bell tower looked against the storm clouds.

Patricia, I thought it was the top of a church … must not be or you would have described it as such. The clouds look like they are ready to start speaking!

Neat picture Pat. I do like going through some of those quaint off-the-beaten-track towns...

I have one of those bells sitting in my garage. We don't have a yoke for it and I have not been able to find someone to make one. It supposedly came out of a house that my grandparents bought on the eastern shore of Maryland that was a former school house.

Thanks for sharing the picture...it is beautiful!

Cool building, Pat. Who cares if you know nothing - keeps you guessing.

Kathleen, it sort of looked like it might have been a school at one time.

Michael, it's a great weekend getaway!

Holly, yeah!  This might have been a school.

Jeff, this town has a bunch of cool old buildings.

And Joan, the clouds are the whole thing here!  And it didn't rain much at all that day - just a couple of sprinkles.

Patricia ~ I agree...the clouds provide amazing texture to the tower!

Neat photo - thanks for sharing with us. I took one look and wondered where in the world in DC it could be but now I know it isn't in DC at all!

Hi Pat... why is it that you see so few bell towers anymore?  Very charming!

Let that picturesque bell ring out load and be noticed like it deserves.

Pat,

Lovely bell tower along with the steel roof. Very nice architecture. :)

Pat ... crazy maker ... stone building and bell towers and no information!  You take enough of these photos and make up stories and before you know it ... you'd have a best seller!  Beautiful building and great cloud texture ...  thanks for sharing.

My husband is from Cumberland, I'll bet if there was a little more building, he could tell you what it was.  Great photo!

The color of the sky is just right as the backdrop for the bell tower, Pat. Good job! Thanks for sharing your photo.

Pat:  Nice shot.  I like the way the red bell tower contrasts with that stormy sky too.  I love seeing what you bring back from your adventures.
