Speechless Sunday

I like to snap photos of little country churches.  They are so simple, and this one showed up under a wonderfulfully blue sky.  It even has a ramp for the members of the congregagtion who have crummy knees!

The simplicty and the little steeple just sort of struck me.  And did I mention the sky?

Those red doors look pretty snappy too.

I love old churches, too!  I've been known to stop at little country churches and poke around.  Many of them still believe in leaving the doors unlocked.  I used to take pics, but had stopped.  Guess I'll have to start again, so I can share them with you!

Patricia - Great picture. I just love how you got a shot with a bright blue sky.

Pat, love this shot. Wouldn't it be fun to do a coffee table book of little churches around your area? Virginia and Maryland are full of them, I'm sure! :)

Country churches are one of my favorite things too! The coffee table book (#7) is a great idea, Sharon!

I love the little country churches and have thought about taking some pictures of them myself. I have been looking at them for a while in my area,  and do not understand why none of them have a cross their steeples.

Pat,

I like the simplicity of the old country (and sometimes city) churches. Nice job. :)

Oh the history wrapped inside that little church.  I see a loving congregation and a very close community in that picture.  I'd love to see a photo taken when it was built and get to see the people going to church on Sunday.
