Friday's Fotos: My Neighbor In Rock Creek Park

I met this guy at the riding stables in Rock Creek Park, which sort of runs through the entire city, from Georgetown up to Gaithersburg, MD.  He literally came right up and kissed the camera.  Luckily, he didn't get any horse goobers on my camera lens. I was especially take with the whiskers on that big old nose!

Oh...makes me want to reach out and stroke that velvet nose...

Hi Pat... he looks like a real sweetheart!  No wonder he liked you!  :)

Hi Pat - So you're picking up strangers, huh?  Seriously, he is very elegant-looking (except for the whiskers I guess).

Well there's a real schnoz for you. His ears are forward so at least he is happy about the pic!

I am not much into horses but that is a very cute picture.

Hi Pat -- great horse photo -- I think I'll send this to my sister-in-law who lives in Gaithersburg. Do you work that area? We keep trying to convince her to move to California, near us. Don't know if she'll do it, though.

He probably hopes that your camera is a tasty treat to eat. Was it lunch time?

Hi Pat, he is so adorable. I love horses. Seems like he was very friendly. Maybe he was hoping you had goodies for him to eat. Have a great weekend!

Pat - Great picture!  It's awesome that he walked right up to you.  When my son was two he was obsessed with horses, thankfully we live two minutes away from several horse properties.  However they usually didn't walk up to us on their own, only if someone was riding them.

I'll have to do a Localism post on the Rock Creek Park stables!  They have some great trails, too.

Emily, I didn't get his name!  But I can imagine him being a character in Jane Smiley's A Day At The Races!  When the snow melts, I'm planning to do some riding there.
