OK, so I’m on breathtakingly beautiful Cape Cod. My beach cottage has Internet access – sometimes. My cell phone works perfectly – sporatically.
I’m staying in a picturesque village called Chatham, and there are lots of For Sale signs all over town. Maybe there will be some Open Houses Sunday afternoon to check out. Not that I’m interested in buying a house in Chatham right now, but it’s hard to totally decompress in just two and a half days.
Yikes!
This could be clear evidence that Opens are not totally productive. I could drop into one of the may real estate offices in town and tantalize the duty agent. But that would be mean.
Type-A on Vacation

Patricia, I empathize. I once ruined a cruise for myself by worrying the whole time that stock options I had bought were running out (and indeed they were). Let it go and enjoy your vacation!
Relax....... enjoy the sun and fun. You deserve it.
Dont' go near a real estate office or an open house -- just enjoy! You deserve it! There is so much beauty around that you should simply let your mind wander.
Enjoy your vacation, don't work. The whole purpose of a vacation is to get away from it all. The place will still be standing when you get back.
I thought you mentioned Vacation or was that suppose to be Vocation. Enjoy!!
Having fun doesn't mean you can't think about or address real estate - I enjoy reading about local real estate and occasionally visiting an open house. I don't do it because I have to, or feel I need to - only when I want to. I've made some good friends and learned some great things by visiting agents when I travel.
Sorry Patricia, I do the same darn thing. I always pick up a magazine and check out how ads are formatted and see if I can pick up any marketing tricks. Enjoy the sun!
I don't know.... yeah, take the vacation, but why not drop in to some office and open houses just ONE DAY - closer to writing off some of the vacation that way???? Enjoy! I'm headed to the Vineyard in a couple of weeks!
