Tilden Gardens is a cooperative built on 5-acres on Connecticut Avenue between Sedgwick and Tilden Streets. And yes, there are gardens - lovely rose gardens that are just lush from spring into autumn. The four Tudor revival buildings are brick and sandstone, and they were finished in 1930. The complex is close to Metro and an easy walk to restaurants to the south in Cleveland Park, and toward Van Ness to the north.
If you want to live there, however, inventory is very tight. Right now, there is only one unit for sale at Tilden Gardens, an 800 square foot 1-bedroom for $309,900.
If you're beginning your search, you can use the internet, including the search function at housepat.com. But once you are ready to look in earnest, it's best to find a good buyer broker and be on her front burner.
I help my clients to narrow down their searches, then I hover over the neighborhoods and types of homes they are looking for. As new listings come on the market, I check them out and, if one looks like a match, call to arrange a showing.
