My Little Technology Meltdown

Before I got my Mac, I thought that all Mac users were insufferably smug.  Now I have Macs, and I am insufferably smug.

For the last several years, my Macs have worked flawlessly - until last night.

I was in the last stages of getting a contract ratified, and the listing agent had sent me the contract that needed only to be printed out, initialed by the buyers and then scanned and emailed back to the the listing agent.  And I am set up for all of that.

As the cute young couple buying their first place together was driving across town, I downloaded the file and pressed "print", expecting my sleek new all-in-one to spit out the thirty pages in a few minutes.  But it didn't work.

Then, the big Mac froze.  There was this little multi-colored spinning circle that wouldn't go away.  I had to force quit and try again.  And it came back!  That cursed little multi-colored spinning circle!  Yikes!

And little Mac didn't have the printer software installed yet, and I couldn't find the little external drive to fix it.

As my young clients arrived, I was having a meltdown.  And she is an IT consultant who thinks that all Mac users are insufferably smug!  Then, in total desperation, I called the kid who live in my downstairs apartment.  He is a PC.   He cheerfully uploaded the file (sent from my I-Phone) and printed it out.

Happy ending!

But how embarrassing!
